dc.description.abstract | The traditional management systems and methods of the traffic competent authorities are to use diverse work stipulations and forms to record and track a large number of maintenance data. Therefore, the data are so scattered that they are difficult to be preserved, and the maintenance efficiency is hard to improve. With the progress of modern technology, the maintenance for highway facilities has already been managed digitally and systematically, and the Pavement Management System (PMS) has consequently emerged. However, the present system mainly focuses on the pavement detection, so the construction of the pavement maintenance engineering traceability is still insufficient.
The research uses the pavement management system of Taoyuan County Government as the object of study. It refers to the production traceability system which has been applied to various industries and gained good results, introduces the concept of operation and maintenance management for pavement life cycle, and collects and combines related documents and actual interview results. With all these efforts, the research builds up the items and contents for pavement maintenance engineering traceability which meet the requirement. In addition, with the integration with the “traceability of company contracts to public construction” inquiring function provided by the “public construction tender management system” of the Public Construction Commission, Executive Yuan, the research completes its system application plan. At last, statistics is used to analyze the introduced engineering traceability so that the research can provide more consulting information for the pavement management system when it’s making decision for maintenance optimization. When the civil engineering personnel are planning the highway for maintenance, the research can also assist to compare the pavement maintenance traceability with the contractor traceability. Moreover, the research can be used to inquire, retrieve, and apply the maintenance engineering traceability of each highway. Hence, the maintenance efficiency can be enhanced, and the objective of promoting pavement maintenance quality can be achieved.
