dc.description.abstract | 無線個人區域網路(WPAN)至今已以透過各種面貌,給人們帶來生活上的便利。為因應各種需求,相應的規格隨之產生:如IEEE 802.15.1藍芽、IEEE 802.15.3 Ultra-wideband、IEEE 802.15.4 Zigbee以及IEEE 802.15.6 Body Area Network。但是這些規格僅定義媒體存取層以及實體層的運作,若需要定義網路層的行為,則需要另外再行定義,如IEEE 802.15.4 是由Zigbee聯盟定義其網路層行為,為每一個規格特別量身定做其網路層行為是相當不便的。再者,即使Zigbee為現有WPAN的網路層標準,但無法保證其可完全符合於其他IEEE 802.15系列的其他規格。因此,IEEE 802.15工作群組便推出了IEEE 802.15.5這一個可應用於WPAN網路層行為的規格。
IEEE 802.15.5提供了一套可利用的網路層規範給所有IEEE 802.15家族成員,使這些能夠不需像IEEE 802.15.4一樣,透過類似Zigbee聯盟的組織再另外定義網路層的規範。而是直接有一現成的可提供實做。IEEE 802.15.5主要提供的是一Adaptive Mesh Tree的網路拓樸概念,除了樹狀結構形成可較為有彈性外;另外Mesh路徑大大提升了整個網路的穩定性。
這篇論文綜合IEEE 802.15.5以及Zigbee的優缺點,設計並實做出一無線個人網路的系統。在這系統中,樹狀架構可根據使用者設定與節點數量動態變動。並且根據時間運作模式進行時間切割與同步學習機制讓系統在運作時能達到省電。

dc.description.abstract | Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) has provided many conveniences for human life in many ways. For the purpose of satisfying different requirements, there are many different standards, such as IEEE 802.15.1 Bluetooth, IEEE 802.15.3 Ultra-wideband, IEEE 802.15.4 Zigbee and IEEE 802.15.6 Body Area Network. However, those standards only defined the protocol at physical layer and media access control layer. If we need the network layer protocol, we must define it in additional way. For example, Zigbee[1] for IEEE 802.15.4[2] redefines a new network protocol for each WPAN standard. Furthermore even Zigbee is the existed network layer protocol for WPAN we can’t not sure if this protocol is suitable for all standards in the IEEE 802.15 series or not. So IEEE 802.15 group specified another standard, IEEE 802.15.5[3] which is a network protocol provided for all WPAN standards.
IEEE 802.15.5 provided a network protocol which supports an adaptive mesh tree topology concept for every member in IEEE 802.15 series. The network topology could be more flexible, and the mesh paths make more reliable in the whole network.
In this thesis, we will present a WPAN system which combines the advantages of Zigbee and IEEE 802.15.5. For the purposes of power saving and synchronizing time, the system separates time sequence by using a smart time pattern setting.
