With the advances in computer technology, the Digital Home concept is being gradually realized. It is not easy to achieve the concept of wireless media center without wireless networks. Nowadays, the deployment of wireless networks is almost ubiquitous in our daily life. The data packets could be transferred via the 802.11 or 2.5G/3G technologies. These technologies can be applied to any consumer appliance embedded GSM/GPRS/WCDMA or 802.11B/WiMAX modules. Because all electrical appliances product can be IP to achieve the goal of communication, then may achieve the goal of the penetration far-end control, also facilitates in the convenience of software development.
In order to realize the concept of Wireless Digital Home, we choose the Intel UPnP development kit as the development tool. It greatly helps to shorten development time because the developers are able to develop the UPnP applications without truly understanding UPnP working theory.
Therefore, we utilize this tool to design a digital media system for users to be able to share media contents with other devices. Those devices without media contents are able to play the media contents from other devices via wireless networks. In wireless networks architecture, users are not constrained by the wired networks and are able to enjoy the great video/audio effects brought remotely from other devices with wireless networks. In addition to that, the goal of “Zero Configuration” can be realized. There is no specific setting required. The complexity setting could be reduced to minimum and achieved the advantage of plug and play. |
