台灣的IC設計產業不論在產值或全球比重上均逐年提升,全球地位僅次於美國,為國際矚目的明星產業。由於IC設計業位居半導體產業鏈前端,屬腦力密集的高附加價值產業,不論在毛利率或員工平均產值,均領先其餘如製造、封裝、測試等IC次產業。也因為IC設計業的蓬勃發展,直接與間接帶動半導體產業鏈中下游的商機,配合新竹科學園區的產業群聚效應,位國內整體IC產業帶來相當大的助益。 在未來的企業競賽中,尤其是變化快速的IC設計產業,其經營策略已非完全基於以往的競爭力分析,而是利用價值網分析動態之市場競爭狀況,將競合的觀念納入企業的策略思維忠,來創造雙贏的局面。在競合的策略運作上。 當IC設計產業的經營策略開始蛻變之際,如何更精確去衡量企業的經營績效將會是下一個重要的課題。IC設計業的研發領域涵蓋相當廣泛,業者對其產品定位、經營以及研發策略,各產品領域均不相同,其經營策略亦迴異。 在知識經濟的時代,市場賦予IC 設計產業為「知識型產業」,而此種腦力知識密集的產業之關鍵成功要素是消費性電子產品本身的「創新」,但除了消費性電子產品本身的「創新」外,IC 設計公司本身的策略運用亦是成功的主要關鍵。 針對此議題,本研究以台灣 IC 設計產業為研究對象,透過個案公司分析,了解IC 設計業者對所面對之產業環境的認知,及採用的技術創新策略方法為何,並分析不同的技術創新策略對個案公司績效的影響,進一步探討產業環境是 否對技術創新策略與創新績效間之關聯性產生影響。 IC design industry is a “highly knowedge industry” in this knowledge economic age.It takes decades for Taiwan’s Semiconductor Industry to develop into a complete industrial cluster, and at the same time it has also taken on an important role not only in the Semiconductor Industry of the world but also in the economic growth of Taiwan. recently. In order to sustain the competitive advantages, promoting IC design industry would be the key to upgrade the competitiveness of Taiwan’s Semiconductor Industry. It becames very important target to raise the added value of Taiwan’s Semiconductor Industry and make Taiwan’s IC design housesbecome the first around the world.IC design houses are defined as Knowledge-based industry. The key success factor of IC design houses is not only “Innovation,”but alos “product strategy”. According to this issue, this study explores technological innovation strategy of Taiwan’s Semiconductor Industry and the product strategy of IC design houses. By the analysis of case company, this study tries to examine the relationship between technological innovation strategy and product strategy.
