嵌入式系統是一個針對特定目的而設計的計算機,根據使用的範圍以及需求的效能而量身定做,製造者可以進行優化、縮小尺寸降低成本。而對使用者來說卻沒有較大的彈性可以去做變更。但是嵌入式符式系統卻擁有所前所未有的獨特性。小而完整的eForth造就了簡單、擴充、直接的特性。僅僅需求數K Byte的記憶體容量實現了一個可直譯與編譯的Text Interpreter。直譯的功能方便使用者即時的偵錯與觀察結果,更大的好處能夠與機器做及時的溝通。由最低階31個primitive words和190個colon words為基礎開始編譯(擴充)user defined colon words,最後達到使用者需求的應用程式。 要完成嵌入式符式系統首要的工作是熟悉eForth的概念與架構,以及選定將eForth安裝的硬體平台,考量此硬體平台是否包含作業系統以及終端機,因為它將影響eForth安裝的流程、方法與困難度。利用組合語言發展工具在Windows作業系統上將eForth成功的安裝,其中的步驟、流程、方法、技巧有助於未來使用者用不同的方法將eForth安裝在不同的硬體平台上。Embedded system is designed as computer for special applications. Depending on using fields and required performance, such computer is made by customization. Designer is to optimize in performance and size for cost down. It is too hard to change into other applications. Hence, we have focused on Embedded eForth system have unprecedented characteristics. Small and complete eForth is simple, expandable and express, which occupies only dozen of K bytes to implement Text Interpreter can interpreter and compile. The Interpreter is convenient to user immediately debugs, observes results of execution and interacts with machine. Base on 31 primitive words and 190 colon words, the user defined colon words will be compiled for user applications.For installation of Embedded eForth system, the first work is to understand structure and concept of eForth and choose target machine of host. An important feature is considered the target machine whether it include operating system and monitor, which affect degree of difficult, methods and flows on eForth installation. Employing development tools of assembler successfully install the eForth on Windows, where we need to know steps, methods, flows and technics, that are useful to install the eForth by different methods on other target machine in future.
