In order to evaluate and select the appropriate marketsegments, several decision makers and criteria are needed to be involved in the decisionprocess. This study proposes a hybrid fuzzy Quality Function Deployment (QFD) which is acombination of fuzzy QFD, fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), and fuzzy techniquefor order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) to select the suitable marketsegment.In the proposed approach, fuzzy QFD is used in determining the importance of weightsfor the internal characteristics (WHATs), external criteria relevant to market segmentsassessment (HOWs), and the “HOW”-“WHAT” correlation scores, while fuzzy AHP isapplied to obtain more decisive judgments by prioritizing the market segments selectioncriteria and weighting them in the presence of vagueness. The ratings of alternatives versusqualitative criteria are assessed in linguistic values represented by triangular fuzzy numbers.Then, fuzzy TOPSIS was used to obtain the final ranking of alternative. Finally, an empiricalstudy on rental-car Company is put forward to illustrate the performance of the proposedmethodology which the final solution is obtained by identifying the best market segment forfurther development and negotiation.
