This project will be in accordance with the guideline of PIRLS 2011 to examine the reading abilities of Taiwan fourth graders and our environment which supports the abilities. Moreover, since it is the second time Taiwan joins the PIRLS study, we would like to do a follow up study of those schools which were in PIRLS 2006’s study. In particular, this study would test by questioning what has been done to improve students’ reading abilities after PIRLS 2006. The evaluation and comparison purpose is to be directly served as a basis for the development of reading curriculum and making reading policy which in turn will be useful in improving student reading achievement. ; 研究期間 9710 ~ 9807
