; Zhangzhou Hakka dialects refer to the Hakka dialects spoken in Nanjing, Pinghe, Yunsiao, Zhaoan Counties in Zhangzhou, Fujian. Only people in these four counties speak Hakka. In the categorization of the “Language Atlas of China” (1987), Zhangzhou Hakka dialect, despite the fact that the dialect is spoken here, is not categorized as a distinct region for the dialect. The non-categorization resulted from insufficient investigation information at the time, which accordingly made it impossible to categorize the Hakka dialect in the region based on the phonetic characteristic. According to the study results of the author’s “Phonology Study on Zhangzhou Hakka dialect - A Case Study Of Zhaoan Hakka dialect in Taiwan”, “Phonology Study on Hakka dialects in Southern Fujian” (Siou-ci Chen, 2002 and 2006) and the National Science Council “Investigational Comparison Study on the Lexicons of Zhaoan Hakka dialect in Taiwan and China” (2007, 2008), Zhangzhou Hakka dialects are conservative and innovative in both phonetics or lexicon. Besides carrying common characteristics of Hakka, there are other characteristics different from ordinary Hakka. The Hakka dialects spoken in this region are full of research value. In “Investigational Comparison Study on the Lexicons of Zhaoan Hakka dialect in Taiwan and China”, it is found that the Zhaoan Hakka dialect in the hometown is abundant in lexicon, primarily including lexicon that is exclusive of Zhaoan Hakka dialect and the various lexicons from other different dialects in southern Fujian that were integrated after Hakka speakers got in contact with speakers of these other dialects. To continue the study results mentioned above, this research project intends to complete investigating Hakka dialects in Nanjing, Pinghe, and Yunsiao Counties for the ultimate goal of keeping track of the overall application of the lexicon of Hakka dialects in Zhangzhou and to discuss how lexicons were borrowed from other local dialects and the way the dialects were integrated in Hakka dialects in Zhangzhou as well as the influence of lexicon transfer on the phonetic system from phrase structures. Besides observing the contact of Zhangzhou Hakka dialects with lexicons of other local dialects, this research compares Zhangzhou Hakka dialects with other Hakka dialects and sorts out the region-specific lexicon characteristics of Hakka dialects in Zhangzhou in order to answer to the author’s idea of adding the “Hakka Division in Southern Fujian” to the Language Atlas of China to serve as the categorization criteria for the Hakka Division in Southern Fujian besides phonetics. ; 研究期間 9808 ~ 9907 |
