The focus of solar energy industry will be moved from Europe to Asia gradually in 2013. Eurozone debt crisis is not only affecting all of solar industry investment, but also leading manufacturers close-down because governments reduced their subsidy. In contrast, Asian countries have been promoting subsidy policy for solar energy. Countries have predicted the Asian market will take over Europe. Solar energy’s price has always been a focus for the market. Its price has been continuing decreased in the past few years. Observation shows a trend that current market production’s reduced, but the prices do not decrease. Manufacturers improve their process and technology to reduce costs. In addition, end-users’ demand will expand to more countries it can reduce the risk of demand decline due to government decrease their subsidy policy. Solar energy industry will step into a new pattern as policy-oriented, emerging market, technological advancement and supply chain restructuring. An effective supply chain management has great impact on business strategy, and how to choose supplier is an important item in supply chain management. This research uses a case company to analyze, research and explore for supply chain management of wafer manufacturers in solar energy industry. It identifies the problem by market/ environment, supplier management and also advice the suggestion of management. The author hopes the case company can strengthen and pay their attention in supplier management flow system.
