When we collected other country’s permeable pavement design processes and methods, our research decided to follow the Japan’s system. In this system, our design process permeable pavement considered about Taiwan's climate and environmental factors. And then we compared with AI and AASHTO design methods which was famous in Taiwan. By exploring the layers of pavement materials flooding intensity decay rate, and simulating various cases of flooding in KENLAYER mechanical analysis, We could compare the response variable and the useful life of the translation differences. In our result showed that the permeable pavement functional design thickness of rainfall treatment (with Tp represents ) is lager than pavement thickness of only concern about structural considerations (with Ts represents ). When we did more further analysis. When we did more further analysis, it revealed that Ts could be used 12.9 years only in unflooded situation. It was just to meet the design life of 10 years conditions. But the permeable functional design thickness Tp was more depth than the condition, they could use in next 62.5 years even in fully flooded situation. The results indicate permeable functional design was too conservative. If we used Japan permeable functional design in rainfall intensity in Taiwan, it might be too conservative. We has recommended that future research could explore this permeable indicator for the suitability of climate and environment in Taiwan.
