研究期間:10108~10207;This proposed research is an inter-disciplinary study of applying industrial engineering in software development and projects management. This research attempts to highlights the subject of integrated projects planning (IPP) in contemporary projectized organizations, and to establish presents a multi-period, multi-project selection & assignment decisional information system (MPPDIS) to assist IT/IS departments in handling continuous project-based IS requests. The MPPDIS would have three features. The first feature is a mixed-integer programming optimization model that attempts to apply the Taguchi loss function for selecting IS projects and assigning limited shared developer resources. The second feature is an event-based decisional process for operating the optimization model. Such a process enables the sustainability of continuous and cumulative selection and assignment decisions on a multi-period basis. Due to the complicated and contextual nature of data in the continuous planning task, a computerized system will be implemented as the third feature for aiding the execution of the model and the process. In order to validate and verify the proposed work, this research will conduct industrial applications. We would like to realize the benefits of the MPPDIS in helping these organizations effectively and continually plan projects. Due to the combination of academic methodology development, computing system implementation and empirical study, the research requires two years to complete. A large portion of the timeframe would be spent on carrying out the adoption and observing of the MPPDIS in the companies. Such a longer time-frame is also because of the multi-period nature of the model. As for the academic accomplishment of this research, we will present two international conference papers upon the completion of this research, as well as publish two journal papers eventually.
