Abstract:	由於平均壽命的延長及少子化的影響，臺灣人口結構老化比例在1993年就已經達到7％的門檻，使得臺灣，成為聯合國世界衛生組織所界定的「高齡化社會」。雖然政府在2007年時提出長期照護十年計劃，但公共社會保險系統仍然不足以提供完整照護服務給有需要長期照顧之民眾。因此，商業長期看護保險商品能夠被用來補足公共保險之不足並提升整體照護品質。雖然過去幾年來臺灣民眾對長期看護保險商品的需求明顯增加，但社會大眾普遍對此商品的認知仍然不足。本論文簡述長期照護保險商品在台灣發展的歷史與現況，並分析探討此商品未來的發展空間。;Due to the aging population and low fertility, the proportion of aged population in Taiwan has passed the threshold of 7% in 1993, which makes Taiwan, as a country, qualified as an “aging society”based on the definition proposed by United Nations. In spite of Taiwanese government’s effort of launching a Ten-year Long-term Care Plan in 2007, the services provided by the public care plan are still insufficient in meeting the needs of the Taiwanese seniors. Commercial long-term care insurance plans, as the supplement of public care plans, therefore are valuable. However, although there is a significant increase in the demand of long-term care insurance products in the past several recent years, to date the popularity of such product is still limited. In this essay, we summarize the historical development of commercial long-term care insurance products in Taiwan, and provide analyses regarding the future prospect of this product.
