多年來，『辦公自動化』沒有一個確切的定義，業界對『辦公自動化』的看法和理解各有不同，它隨技術的發展而發展，隨人們辦公方式和習慣以及管理思想的變化而變化。在技術發展過程中的每一個階段，人們給辦公自動化賦予了不同的內容和新想像。
