;The main purpose of this thesis is to analyze the impact of skill-biased technological change on wage gap between white-collar workers and general workers in Taiwan’s manufacturing industry. Different from previous studies, this study combines the dataset of Manpower Utilization Survey and Firm Revised Statistics over the 2007-2017 period to conduct the empirical study. Besides, the study also constructs a wage model which included personal characteristics and white-collar variables. The results show that white-collar has positive and significant effect on personal wage. The study further examines the role played by R&D and average GDP per person in explaining the wage gap between white-collar workers and general workers, and points out that the R&D is the main influence on explaining the wage gap between white-collar workers and general workers. That is, the skill-biased technological change will cause manufacturers to pay higher wages to white-collar workers, and also reasonably explain the widening wage gap.
