;The stable supply of power systems as a key indicator of development in society and economy not only drives the globe to strive for it but also keeps urging the world to enhance the stable power supply and reduce the failure frequency. This study used the failure and maintenance record of the power systems logged in a substation in North Taiwan as the subject of the study along with a specific platform collecting the data associated with a variety of power system failure in an annual report and inputting them in Power Business Intelligence (Power BI). The key factors of internal inspection of circuit breakers are identified by the 80/20 rule. In other words, this study suggests prioritizing inspection tasks and labor efforts on the 20% portion of higher voltage and more frequent power system failure among all internal inspection record and adopting the condition-based maintenance approach. The aforementioned 80/20 condition-based maintenance approach could provide as a reference to maintenance. From the findings, it is identified that the BI tool can not only visualize the data for display but also survey and assay a variety of power system failure data effectively. This study also found that most circuit breaker contacts had survived as their utility period expired, which is the ground for associated industries to adopt more adequate maintenance approaches to sustain the power supply quality with low-cost maintenance in terms of the circuit breaker internal inspection maintenance approaches.
