;In the continuous growth process of startups, seeking external resources often requires founders to relinquish control over the company. Founders must balance between resources and power. This study is based on the resource dependence theory and integrates the framework of Casciaro and Piskorski (2005) to measure the phenomenon of power imbalance. It aims to explore the dynamic adjustment of power in different growth paths of startups at various stages. The study conducts a longitudinal analysis of 724 business change registrations from 38 hardware industry startups founded in Taiwan between 2010 and 2024. By summarizing and organizing the data, seven different growth scenarios are identified. The study finds that at different stages of growth, founders dynamically adjust their power structures according to different resource endowments. Through case consolidation, this research provides insights into the founders′ control over startups and their strategic choices during the growth process, expanding the application of resource dependence theory, and offering practical contributions and references.
