本文使用「國科會台灣地區第二次創新活動調查研究」的問卷資料並結合民國 95年工商普查資料做為主要樣本,探討不同的代工類型對廠商生產力的影響,及代工行為對廠商決策行為的影響。除了代工類型的變數之外,加入廠商特性變數及產業別虛擬變數;並將樣本區分為微型廠商、小型廠商、中型廠商與大型廠商,高科技產業與非高科技產業,進一步評估、比較不同子樣本的實證結果。 實證結果顯示:當廠商為中型廠商(200人以上300以下),廠商從事不同的代工類型生產,皆會使其生產力明顯上升。若將微型廠商的定義擴大為20人以下時,當廠商從事OEM代工生產時,生產力會明顯下降。廠商特性部分,中小型廠商在廠商年齡、是否有出口經驗、是否曾申請專利的解釋變數有正向顯著的結果。 廠商決策方面,總樣本的結果說明了從事ODM、OB生產模式的廠商,較可能投入R&D支出;但細分樣本後,卻發現只有大型廠商於ODM的生產模式,投入R&D支出的可能性明顯較高。This paper has combined the survey data of “Innovation Survey of Taiwan, TTIS-2” of the National Science Council in Taiwan and the firm level data of “2006 Industry, Commerce and Service Census” to explore the influences of different subcontracting activities on the firm’s productivity and the firm’s decision making on R&D activities. In addition to the variables of different classes of subcontracting activities, we also use the variables of firm’s specific characteristics and the dummy variables of industry. We then classify the data into (1) micro firm, small firm, medium firm and large firm, (2) high technology and the non-high technology. This empirical results show that the productivity of medium firms (200 employees to 300 employees) will increase significantly with three types of subcontracting activities. If we extend the definition of the micro firm that “less than 5 employees” to “less than 20 employees”, then the micro firms who has done the OEM productive activity, its productivity will decrease significantly. As for the firm’s specific characteristic, both the medium firms and the small firms have the positive influences on its productivity when they have the experiences of the export and used to apply the patents or when the firm’s age is increasing. As for the firm’s decision making, the results of the overall sample indicate that there are higher possibilities of investing in the R&D if the firms have done the ODM or OB productive activities. If we separate the overall sample into the different sizes of the firm’s scale, we find that only the large firms have higher possibilities of investing in the R&D when it has done the ODM productive activities.
