;Before the Hans immigrated to Taiwan and reclaimed, Miaoli area was the livingarea of the indigenous inhabitants. Since the era of Kangxi of QingDynasty, some Hakka groups immigrated to Taiwan and reclaimed the Miaoli region, making a living by agriculture.
