;The Ministry of Labor and related government departments pay attention to construction occupational hazards. The construction industry has characteristics such as much outdoor work at height, high operational dander, and heavy workload; these characteristics make construction a high-risk industry. The Annual Labor Report published by the Ministry of Labor shows that the number of construction occupational hazard cases stay high every year. Fatalities resulting from construction occupational hazards also do not decrease over past years. The past research on the correlation analysis for construction occupational hazard characteristics mainly uses data mining techniques to build databases for construction occupational hazards. However, data pre-processing of these techniques is cumbersome for practitioners, making them difficult to be applied in practice. Therefore, this research aims at using Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) to analyze and graphically present the correlation among construction occupational hazard characteristics so the time required for interpretation can be reduced. Then the analysis results and the original data of construction occupational hazard cases are used to establish an ontology-based knowledge base and to develop a search mechanism for the knowledge base in order to achieve knowledge sharing and reuse. The correlation analysis results for construction occupational hazard characteristics using FCA and the search mechanism of the knowledge base can be a reference for safety management on site, and the results of this research can be applied to occupational hazard propaganda or educational training in the construction industry.
