本研究以美國職業大聯盟(以下簡稱美國大聯盟)2011年至2017年間,每年各30個球隊,共210個球隊為研究樣本,探討美國大聯盟投手薪資水準對於組織績效的關聯性。第一階段:使用球隊總薪資為一投入,球隊勝率及主場售票率為產出,並採用資料包絡分析法(Data Envelopment Analysis,DEA)探討美國大聯盟的技術效率;第二階段:使用Tobit迴歸模型探討影響美國大聯盟技術效率的影響因素。第一階段結論發現,在變動規模報酬下,平均效率為0.86;第二階段結論發現,投手薪資比、投手薪資及球隊內是否有明星球員對技術效率為正相關且顯著,而在防禦率及被上壘率隊則為負相關且顯著,此外,平均年齡對於技術效率無明顯影響。;This research uses the data of 210 samples in MLB from 2011 to 2017, exploring the impacts of the pitcher’s salary on team performance. The first step estimation using data envelopment analysis(DEA) shows that Total Payroll as one input items and select Win Percentage and Home Attendance Percentage as two outputs items, exploring the impacts of Pitcher’s salary in MLB and roster development on team performance. The second step Tobit estimation explore that the factor of the echnical efficiency in MLB. The empirical results show that the average technical efficiency is 0.86 in various return to scale (VRS). Regarding the determinate of VRS, we find that Pitcher Payroll Percentage (PPP) and Pitcher payroll are significantly and postively related to technical efficiency ; besides, Earned run average (ERA), Walks Plus Hits per Inning Pitched (WHIP) and Starts significantly and negative related to technical efficiency. Finally, age is insignificantly affecting technical efficiency.
